Rowhouse uses Stripe Connect so your organization can accept payments (dues, events, merch) and receive payouts to your bank account.

Why connect Stripe?

  • Accept payments: Members pay via secure Stripe-hosted flows; you see transactions in Rowhouse and in your Stripe dashboard.
  • Receive payouts: Funds are sent to your connected bank account on Stripe’s schedule (e.g. rolling or weekly).
  • Compliance: Stripe handles identity and tax requirements; you complete their onboarding once.

Connect your account

  1. During onboarding, or from Settings (or Subscription), click to connect Stripe or complete Stripe setup.
  2. You’re redirected to Stripe’s onboarding. Complete the steps they show, which typically include:
    • Business type (individual, company, etc.)
    • Legal name and representative details
    • EIN or tax ID if required
    • Bank account for payouts (or you may add this in Bank details in Rowhouse)
  3. After finishing, you’re returned to Rowhouse. Your org is then able to accept payments and receive payouts.
Use the same legal and bank details you want for tax and payout purposes. Changing them later may require going through Stripe again.

Representative, EIN, and business type

Stripe asks for:
  • Representative: The person responsible for the connected account (often the org leader).
  • EIN / Tax ID: Required for many business types in the US.
  • Business type: Affects what information Stripe collects and how they report.
These are Stripe requirements; Rowhouse does not store your EIN or full bank details. For issues with the Stripe form, see Stripe Connect documentation.

Re-onboard or disconnect

  • Re-onboard: If Stripe asks for more information (e.g. after a pause), use the same connect or complete setup entry point in Rowhouse to open Stripe again.
  • Disconnect: If your org needs to disconnect Stripe (e.g. closing the club), use Settings or Subscription and look for Stripe or Payments; disconnect only if you no longer need to accept payments. See Settings - Stripe Connect.
Keep your Stripe dashboard bookmarked so you can view payouts, disputes, and tax documents there.
