Definitions of terms used in Rowhouse docs and product. Admin
A member with the admin role. Admins can manage the organization: members, groups, events, emails, website, dues, merch, settings, and subscription. Only admins see Settings and Subscription in the sidebar.
Assignment (dues)
A single dues obligation: one member, one amount, optional due date and description. Each assignment has a status (unpaid/paid) and a unique pay link.
Calendar
A named group of events (e.g. “Social events”). Events can be assigned to a calendar. Calendar members may be default invitees for events on that calendar.
Club
Your organization in Rowhouse (e.g. a club, chapter, or team). The club has a name, slug, logo, members, events, dues, and settings. Used interchangeably with “organization” in the docs.
Draft (email)
An email prepared for sending, built from a template with optional custom variables. You choose recipients and send from the draft.
Dues group
A named set of dues (or merch) with optional options (tiers/variants) and block-based content. Type “dues” for dues; type “merch” for the store. Used when assigning dues or selling products so the pay/store page can show the right amount and content.
Event invite
A record linking one member to one event: RSVP status, attendance, and (for paid events) payment status and amount. Invitees receive an email with a link to RSVP and pay.
Group
A label or tag for members (e.g. “Board”, “Class of 2026”). Members can belong to multiple groups. Groups are used to send emails or invite to events by group.
Ledger
A record of financial activity: payments (dues, events, merch) and sometimes payouts. Used for balance and audit.
Member / membership
One person’s association with one club. A member has name, email, phone, role (admin or member), optional profile picture and custom column values, and can belong to groups.
Merch group
A dues group with type “merch”: defines a product with custom properties (e.g. size, color) and options (variants with prices). Powers the storefront and cart/checkout.
Option (dues group)
A selectable tier or variant in a dues group: label and amount. For dues, options are tiers (e.g. “Standard 50").Formerch,optionsareproductvariants(e.g."M/Blue"at50"). For merch, options are product variants (e.g. "M / Blue" at 25).
Organization
Same as club: the entity you create or join (name, slug, members, events, dues, settings).
Pay link
The unique URL for a dues (or event) assignment that the member opens to pay. Sharing the pay link is how you collect payment from that member.
Payout
A transfer of funds from Stripe to your connected bank account. Payouts follow Stripe’s schedule (e.g. rolling or weekly).
Slug
A URL-friendly identifier (lowercase, letters, numbers, hyphens). Used for the club (e.g. my-club in rowhouse.co/my-club) and for pages, dues groups, and merch groups.
Storefront
The public store page where customers browse merch, select variants, and add items to the cart. Reached via the store URL (e.g. rowhouse.co/store/org-slug).
Template (email)
A reusable email design (subject and body) with variables (e.g. {{name}}). You create drafts from templates and send to recipients.
Transaction
A single payment record: who paid, amount, type (dues/event/merch), date. Viewed in Finance → Transactions.
Variable (email)
A placeholder in a template or draft (e.g. {{name}}, {{email}}) that is replaced per recipient when sending. Custom variables are set per draft.
